Running Latest Versions of MacOS High Sierra and Windows 10 updates. Macbook Pro 15" (Late 2016) - 3.1 GHz Processor, 16GB Ram, AMD Radeon Pro 460 First, I have upgrade the NVidia NVS 4200m driver, no luck. Windows suddenly does not recognize monitor, stuck on generic non-pnp driver at low resolution i came across this problem from a customer who brought his computer to my attention. Seems I lost my monitor driver for Win 10, this monitor was works after the upgrade process, but today (2 days after the OS upgrade) the screen resolution were changed to 640480 and I cannot adjust the screen resolution, somehow the resolution was locked on 640 X 480. Has anyone else experienced this and found a fix? Any help would be appreciated. In windows 7, 8 and 10 you will only see reference to generic pnp monitor under monitor tab and under device manager unless you load the display/monitor drivers. I think Window's latest updates might be to blame, but I also have a fleeting suspicion that maybe Apple's updates for Spectre and Meltdown might be the cause? In this case, under Device manager, it still says "Device not Migrated". For some reason, this works but the resolution still feels weird and I think it's still not correctly working.

The only fix I've found so far is that I have to uninstall whatever "Generic PnP Monitor" driver is being used under device manager and then restart windows. I downloaded and ran that executable for analog, and it tells me that I have Acer Incorporated Monitor ( 1.0.0.0) 'Ready to use.' The rest of the drivers it lists as 'no device present for use.' Windows still says I have a generic non-PnP monitor and still won't let me change resolutions.

I cannot install Dell's drivers either because it can't detect my monitor and says that it can only detect "Apple Plug and Play Monitor - APPA030" which I'm assuming might be port hardware? Under the properties of that, I can see under Events: "Device not Migrated". Under device manager, I only see Generic PnP Monitor, something that Dell's website says is how it's supposed to be. One one other separate port (on the right side, instead of the usual left port I plug the cable into), the monitor works, but with terrible terrible resolution and extremely pixelated image. Only a restart fixes this, but the same thing repeats again - works for 30 secs and then completely stops working. Windows at this point does not detect the monitor at all. The weird part is that on one port (the one I usually use), it works perfectly for 30 secs and then suddenly stops working.

The monitor still works fine with MacOS but suddenly doesn't work with Bootcamp. I managed to finally install the updates since apparently the problem was the 3rd party dongle I had connected.

Over the break, I had multiple failed updates for Windows 10 (update 1709) and whatever else was installed. So I went back home for winter break, leaving behind my Dell monitor working fine with MacOS and Bootcamp, only to come back and find that it is no longer working with Bootcamp.
